Communication of Monnit ALTA sensors:
The RF communication of Monnit wireless sensors can take place at frequencies of 433, 868, 900, 920 MHz. However, in Hungary, these devices can only be used in the ISM band (Industrial, Scientific and Medical), therefore we only distribute 868 and 433 MHz systems. Monnit wireless sensors send the measured values to the monitoring system via a wireless network via the gateway, which evaluates and processes the data and displays them. Radio frequency security:
Adaptive frequency-based (spread spectrum) communication + 256 bit Diffie-Hellmann Key Exchange encryption. That’s pretty good 🙂
Data transmission distance and power supply:
Monnit ALTA devices have achieved increased range and battery life by using UltraLowPower technology. The range of Monnit ALTA sensors is 1000 feet (approx. 300 meters) through 10-12 walls. Depending on the frequency of communication cycles, they operate for 8-10 years on one battery set (2xAA, or 3.6 V Tadiran Li-SOCL2). The field strength and battery status can also be monitored with a monitoring system.
Monnit ALTA wireless sensor modes:
- Event-driven sensors send a signal to the monitoring system when a predefined event occurs. In addition, they also send data about the monitored state at programmed times.
- Time-controlled sensors send measured data at preset intervals, but the “Aware” mode can be set, when more frequent or less frequent measurements and data transmission are possible when a certain preset value is reached.
Important to note:
The sensors cannot be read directly via the monitoring system, because communication with the gateway is initiated only by the sensor. The sensor does not monitor the radio network to save energy. The sensor, according to the configuration given to it, measures continuously or periodically, wakes up at the data sending times, sends the data, downloads the new configuration if it has changed, and then goes to sleep again. Alarms are sent by the monitoring system, not the sensor.

Monnit ALTA wireless industrial temperature sensor, transmitter
Monnit ALTA industrial (IP65 protected) wireless temperature sensors (transmitters) measure the ambient temperature using a thermistor.
There is also an indoor version, a CR2032 button battery version and a 2xAA battery version.
Monnit ALTA wireless industrial humidity sensor
Monnit ALTA industrial (IP65 protected) wireless humidity measuring sensors measure Relative Humidity (RH) and temperature, and calculate the dew point from these. They are well suited for any place where humidity is an important element of the environment. E.g. greenhouses, warehouses, museums, wineries, etc.
There is also an indoor version, one powered by a CR2032 button cell battery and one powered by 2xAA batteries.

Monnit Industrial Wireless Quad Temperature Sensor
The Monnit Industrial Wireless Quadtemperature Sensor uses four separate sensors for accurate and reliable measurement and tracking. It is ideal for monitoring food coolers, HVAC systems, and data centers, for example. Customization allows you to set the reading frequency and notification threshold. An optional solar version is also available. The charged battery can power the sensor for up to 5 years.
Monnit ALTA Thermocouple transmitter
The industrial wireless Thermocouple transmitter is suitable for measuring various temperature ranges. The transmitter with K-type connector is suitable for measuring up to 400°C. The sensor is programmed to go into sleep mode for a user-specified time and after activation, it sends a signal, waits until it stabilizes, then converts the analog signals and transmits the calculated temperature data to the gateway. A solar-powered version is also available as an option. The charged battery can power the sensor for up to 5 years.


Monnit ALTA Wireless Duct Temperature Sensor
Monnit ALTA Wireless Duct Temperature Sensor uses an NTC type thermistor to accurately measure the temperature of the pipeline while maintaining a closed environment. It is easy to install and mount for long-term use.
ALTA Wireless Liquid Temperature Transmitter
The Monnit Wireless Liquid Temperature Transmitter uses a 3-foot, waterproof sensor to measure the temperature of water or non-flammable liquids. It is ideal for monitoring the temperature of water tanks, pools, aquariums. User customization allows you to set the reading frequency and set the conditions for notifications.


ALTA Wireless High Temperature Transmitter
The Monnit Wireless High Temperature Transmitter uses RTD to provide accurate measurements from -50°C to +370°C. It is ideal for high temperature environments, such as ovens, heaters, and boilers. This sensor should only be operated in dry, low humidity environments. User customization allows you to set the reading frequency and set the conditions for notifications.
Monnit ALTA wireless industrial current sensor
The Monnit ALTA industrial (IP65 protected) wireless current sensors measure the alternating current (minimum, maximum, average) and calculate power data (Ah, Wh, kWh) using a current transformer, and are also available in
- 20A,
- 150A,
- 500A
measurement limits.
An indoor version powered by 2xAA batteries is also available.


Monnit ALTA wireless industrial voltage sensor 500V AC/DC
Three operating modes are possible:
- VAC rms,
- VAC max,
- VDC mode.
The default mode is VAC RMS, but you can freely set another as the default.
There is also an indoor version, a CR2032 button battery version and a 2xAA battery version.
Monnit ALTA Wireless Industrial Ultrasonic Sensor
Ultrasonic sensors are usually used for distance measurement. They can measure the distance of objects or liquid levels, so they can even be used for tank level measurement.
Minimum distance: 20 cm
Maximum distance: 750 cm
Resolution: 1 cm


Monnit ALTA wireless industrial pulse counter
We recommend it for electronic measurement of all measuring devices (water, gas, electricity) that have a pulse output. The sensor has a standard Open Collector design, but it also counts short circuits. For example, it can work with magnet-reed relay solutions. The pulse width, electronic anti-spin, and whether it counts rising or falling edges can be programmed. This device can also be used to monitor old-type measuring devices and measure consumption. There is a 1 and 4 input version, as well as an indoor version, a CR2032 button battery-operated version, and a 2xAA battery-operated version.
Monnit ALTA wireless industrial opening/closing sensor
This sensor detects the opening and closing of doors and windows (buildings, furniture). The monitoring system can display when doors and windows are opened or closed. Alarms can also be set for events. There is an indoor version, powered by a CR2032 button battery and a 2xAA battery version. They are very well suited for monitoring the doors and windows of air-conditioned spaces, communal spaces of condominiums, stables, and closed areas.


Monnit ALTA Wireless Industrial Pressure Sensor
The Monnit ALTA pressure sensor measures the pressure of liquids, gases or steam in both tanks and pipelines up to a maximum of 300 PSIG (pound/square inch [gauge]), 20.68 bar. It is also available in a 2xAA battery powered version.
Monnit ALTA air pollution sensor
The sensor measures the concentration of airborne dust PM1, PM2.5 and PM10.


Monnit ALTA Wireless Light Sensor
The ALTA wireless light sensor measures light intensity. Measuring range from 0 to 83,000 lux. Ideal for monitoring light in museums and art galleries. Users can customize the measurement frequency, set thresholds for SMS, email or voice call alerts.
